Buying a home in Geddes Heights

A search built around what you need, a clear read on every home, and a checklist from first showing to closing.

Buying a home in Geddes Heights

Buying a home in Geddes Heights means you can live among the trees and still walk to campus. The neighborhood sits between Geddes Road and Nichols Arboretum, and it's very walkable to the University of Michigan hospital, Central Campus, and downtown. It's one of the neighborhoods I know best.

Homes range from around 100 years old to brand-new builds, and some back right up to the Arb.

Living here puts the Arb on your doorstep: 123 acres of trails and meadows that run down to the Huron River, and the Peony Garden, with nearly 800 peonies blooming in late May and early June.

What to know before you buy

Geddes Heights is very hilly, and some streets are very steep. Before you choose a home, think about walking those hills every day and driving them in winter. I'll make sure you see the street as well as the house.

With an older home, the inspection matters more. With a new build, we look at how it was done. Either way, I explain what to focus on: safety, structural issues, and foundation issues.

How buying works with me

You get pre-approved, and I set up your search. When you find the right home, I pull recent sales and call the listing agent to learn about competition and what matters to the seller. Read more in how we choose which homes to see.
